Last Day of School!

Max and I went to Zach's kindergarten graduation, then picked up Jake after school. Hard to believe I now have a third grader and a first grader! We met their friends at the bus stop and had ice cream treats at the neighbors to celebrate.

Friday night we went to a BBQ at our friends the Soukups to celebrate the end of the school year, and the start to summer. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time playing with friends.
There were a couple of moments of excitement at the party. Sara & Jason's car key was misplaced by Colt and after an extensive, furniture moving search, found underneath the cat (yep, a real cat). But most of all when Max disappeared and had everyone at the party searching for him. He had tried to follow Jay (who had gone a few houses down to help get a portable fire ring), but Jay didn't see him and he didn't follow him back. It took about ten years off my life, and added a lot of gray hairs, I'm sure! Poor Sara, our hostess (not to be confused with Sara of the lost key), has a heart condition and is wearing a heart monitor for thirty days to track episodes that affect her heart and the search for Max caused her monitor to go off.
BUT all ended well, and we really did have a good time! A very memorable start to summer. :)
