Whew, we've had some hot weather here this week. On Saturday, we bought a quick set pool for the yard. We went with a smaller one to see how it works out. I've been apprehensive about getting one because it makes me nervous to have it in the fenced yard. Max has become such a runner - he requires a whole new level of vigilance. Anyway, we set it up Saturday night. The Dusbabek's came over from across the street to help - we actually sat around in lawn chairs watching the pool fill. Good entertainment (kind of like watching grass grow). :)
It has been great fun. Max still prefers the wading pool, but the big boys have been having a blast. They can both stand up and it's not over their heads, but it's deep enough for them to swim around.
Sunday we drove up to Mom & Dad's house for Father's Day. It was fun to spend the day with the family.
We got the exciting news that we will be a great aunt & uncle AGAIN. My nephew Pete and his wife Amy are expecting their first baby in January. This will be the fifth great niece or nephew on my side of the family. Wow! So fun and exciting.
Tonight we're having Jake's "friend" birthday party. His eighth birthday is a week from today. We're having it at Grand Slam, so for Jake the hardest thing was sticking to Mom & Dad's number of kids limit. He wanted to invite A LOT more friends. But since he chose to do the party there, and you pay per kid, we set a limit for him. Wish Jay & I luck with the party tonight!
