After many years as a T-ball, baseball and soccer Mom, I have also become a HOCKEY MOM. I begin this journey with some trepidation, after numerous tales of the COMMITMENT involved.
Jake has been asking to play hockey for a few years now. Last winter we hoped he would be content with a back yard ice rink, but alas, no. We began with a two hour sign up and registration where we signed numerous checks, promised hours of volunteer time and left loaded with "fund raisers". We started already, and the season goes through March. Jake had his first ice time last weekend. He realized how HARD this is going to be, but loved it.
We decided Zach could start with Snowplow Sams (skating lessons) since Jake had to wait to start hockey. I don't think we were quite ready to jump in with TWO kids in hockey!
So wish me luck (a lot of the weekends Jay will be hunting we will have hockey both Saturday and Sunday).
AND if anyone is interested in a hockey raffle calendar, we are selling them!! They cost $25, but there is a raffle for each day of the year where you can win $25 - $250 (only 2000 printed and sold). :)
