Last night we had Jake's SKATE banquet for hockey. It stands for Skaters Keep Achieving Through Education and is for hockey players who fulfill their academic requirements throughout the season. They have to have report cards with a certain GPA to participate. He got a certificate, hat and t-shirt and also won a prize (Jimmy Johns gift certificate and Golden Gopher official game hockey puck). They had hockey players who are seniors in high school speak about how important it is to get good grades, which was nice. It was fun.
