Bright and early last Friday morning we woke the kids, loaded them into the minivan (complete with cartop carrier), and headed west! You can see their excitement! We made it to Medora, North Dakota the first day. We had time to visit Theodore Roosevelt National Park and see the Painted Canyon and some wildlife (buffalo, wild horses, prairie dogs). By the end of the day the kids were SO READY to be out of that van. Poor Max was having a meltdown as we tried to get out of the National Park without killing the prairie dogs that were all over the roadways. We spent the night at the Badlands Motel. The next morning we took the kids to the local western style playgound to run around before starting another day on the road.
