So, when we got up Sunday morning there were four little duckies asleep on our front steps. Apparently it's like a stray dog...if you feed them, they'll come ba-ack!
Today we went over to Melissa's for our vacation planning meeting. We leave in 12 days for our annual vacation with the "other" Nordquist family (Judd, Mel & girls).
This year we are heading to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We've rented a lake cabin in the Hiawatha National Forest. It's on five acres, right on a lake and comes with a dock, fishing boat and a canoe. It has a shallow sandy beach for the kids to play on right in front of the cabin and a fire ring for bon fires. The directions there are priceless, take the gravel road until you come to the narrow dirt road, that kind of deal. But, solitude without roughing it too much. The four bedroom cabin has satellite tv, a washer and dryer, wrap around deck overlooking the lake with gas and charcoal grills, etc!
We're planning on visiting both great lakes (Superior and Michigan) and seeing lots of the state parks and sights in the UP.
So today we planned out who will bring what, what we will have for meals and sights we want to see. I'm getting really excited, I can't wait!
