February Fun

Zach had a special program at school for Valentine's Day. They invited grandparents to come in for a craft and cookies. But since all four of Zach's grandparents are in Texas, Max and I got to fill in for them. Then we got to open Valentines and get a special gift the kids made for us. After the party the entire first grade performed a Valentines Day concert in the gym for all the parents and grandparents. It was SO SWEET. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera or video camera. Take my word for it, it was very cute!

The kids had the day off school for President's Day on Monday. We got together with some of Jake's old play group friends, and had a great time catching up. I'm so glad we still make time to keep in touch.

Our school had a local stable bring teams of horses and wagons to school for hayrides yesterday. I went in and volunteered, and went on the hayrides with both Zach and Jake's classes. It was a perfect bright sunny winter day, and the kids had so much fun!

The Cub Scout annual Blue and Gold Banquet was last night. The boys both received awards. It was a fun night with friends, dinner and entertainment by a yo yo "master". He was a huge hit with the kids. Of course, he was also selling yo yos, of which we now have two!
