The Nordquist Family: Weekend of Fall Sports!

Thursday I met Sonya in St. Cloud after her appointment at the cancer center there. We had a great time getting a chance to talk. We went to the mall for some shopping and both got pedicures, very fun!
She is still having issues with her throat healing, but hopefully the treatments they want to try will help. She's going to still have her feeding tube for a while until she can actually eat on her own again.

Friday Jay and I went to the Wild hockey game. His employer gave us tickets (great seats!) and we took another couple. The tickets are supposed to be to "schmooze" the client, but fortuitously we are friends with them. So instead of being a chore, it was a fun date night.
My Mom & Dad came down to babysit the boys for us. We even got to go out for dinner first! We ate in St. Paul near the Xcel Center and then walked to the game. It was a lot of fun, and the Wild won!

Saturday Mom, Dad and I drove down to Marshall, where my nephew Brian plays college football at Southwest Minnesota State University. The college had a "Smokefest" before the game, so we got there early and had barbecue for lunch (mmm). Cathy & Stan were there of course, they go to every game, and Brian's sister Janice had flown in from Texas too!
They played Upper Iowa, and it was an exciting game to watch. Brian is a starter, so we got to watch him play the whole game. They won, 52 - 24, so there were lots of touchdowns to cheer for! Plus we couldn't have had a better day for afternoon outdoor football - the weather was gorgeous!
After the game we went down on the field to see Brian, then we all went out for dinner together afterward before heading back home.

Sunday morning Zach had a hockey game, so Mom & Dad came with to watch. He is doing such a great job! Then Mom and Dad took us out for lunch before they headed home.
