We've jumped into a busy 2011! We enjoyed a fun filled Christmas and New Years, and had fun during the kids time off of school. Mom & Dad came home for a couple of weeks over Christmas and we enjoyed spending time with them here and at their house over Christmas and Mom's birthday.
My niece Christy (from Alaska) visited for a few days with her three boys, and Carol and Rick too. We made a trip to the Mall of America, baked cookies and visited with Cathy and cousin Toni also. It was fun to spend time with them and have a chance for the boys to play together.
The PTO put on our school family dance with a "hippy, hippy, shake" theme. It went smoothly, and the kids had a ball dressing up and playing with their friends.
Jake and Zach made cars for their Cub Scout Pinewood Derby and raced last Sunday. They had fun, and Zach even won the silver medal for his Wolf Den!
I joined a local fitness club and have met a couple of times with a personal trainer and am taking a few classes a week. I convinced a friend from MOMS Club to join me in taking classes, so we've been meeting up and utilizing the free child care while we take a class in the mornings. So far we've tried yoga, spin, turbokick, and cardio resistance training. Currently it hurts my legs to walk (from sore muscles) but I have lost about 7 pounds! If only there weren't about 45 more to go!
